Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) will provide strategic and operational leadership for all hockey-related activities within the association. Reporting directly to the President and Board of Directors, the GM will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive player development program spanning from U7 to U18, while ensuring a safe, supportive, and high-quality experience for players, coaches, and families.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader with deep knowledge of the game, strong administrative skills, and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships across our hockey community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all hockey operations for PAH and report regularly to the Board of Directors.
- Serve as a non-voting member on committees as assigned by the President.
- Address all concerns and inquiries in consultation with the President and/or Board.
- Coordinate special programs, coaches' meetings, and organizational events.
- Plan and facilitate coaching/referee clinics and annual/special meetings.
- Assist with player evaluations and AA team tryouts.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director regarding affiliated players (APs) and related matters.
- Act as the primary liaison between PAH and Hockey Saskatchewan on development matters.
- Attend Hockey Saskatchewan meetings as required.
- Lead the coordination of PAH’s annual awards for players and coaches.
- Attend all Board of Directors meetings and provide monthly operational updates.
- Uphold and apply PAH’s constitution and bylaws in handling concerns or issues.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Board.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Criminal record check required.
- Proficiency with common computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Previous coaching or hockey operations experience strongly preferred.
- Broader sports management background will be considered.

- Ability to mentor and motivate athletes and staff in both competitive and recreational
settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with players, coaches, volunteers, parents,
and stakeholders.

- Sound judgment, creative problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
