Prince Albert Foxes Female Hockey Sub-Committee

Purpose:

Prince Albert Minor Hockey (P.A. Hockey) recognizes the importance of growing and sustaining female hockey opportunities in our community. To strengthen participation, visibility, and engagement, P.A. Hockey proposes the creation of a dedicated ‘Female Hockey Sub-Committee’, with oversight from a P.A. Hockey board member, focused on program promotion and outreach within the City of Prince Albert.

Objectives:

The Subcommittee will

Promote Awareness - Highlight the Foxes’ female hockey program through community events, schools, and local media.
Engage Families and Players - Provide accessible information sessions and opportunities for girls of all ages to learn about hockey.
Strengthen Partnerships - Work with local schools, minor hockey organizations, and community groups to create a supportive pathway for female players.
Recruit and Retain Players - Encourage new player registrations while building a positive and inclusive environment for current participants.

Expected Outcomes:

Increased visibility of the Foxes female hockey program within Prince Albert.
Growth in player registration numbers for the upcoming season and each season thereafter.
Stronger partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local sponsors.
A more inclusive and accessible environment for female athletes in hockey.

P.A. Hockey is currently searching for three (3) representatives who are interested in being a part of this volunteer sub-committee. The following criteria would be considered an integral asset to be selected for your involvement in this sub-committee.

Skill Criteria:

- Has a family member who is a minor hockey participant currently in the P.A. Hockey Foxes minor hockey stream, or has a past minor hockey participant within the Foxes program.

- Has demonstrated experience in coaching, managing, and/or leading in the minor hockey environment.

- Has demonstrated experience of professionalism in their daily happenings outside of the minor hockey environment.

Those that are interested in this volunteer sub-committee on a one-year basis (with an option for renewal each year at the P.A. Hockey annual general meeting); are encouraged to state their interest along with a one-page document which outlines the skill criteria that one would bring to this position.

Candidate applications will be forwarded to the members of the Board of Directors with P.A. Hockey who will oversee the candidate selections and will determine next steps in the process.
